将軍徳川家光の神社の天井．１６８１年に上野の寺院とともに建てられた．Ａは交差する部材の断面を示す．Ｂは交差部の装飾すべてを示す	東京上野の寺院の天井の一部．日本政府によって著者に与えられた模型より	仏教の蓮の小枝を模して彫られた物．仏陀は母のために祈るとき手にこれを持つと言われる	ミカドが抜き出して読んだまさにその式辞の縮小された複写．天皇による接見の翌日陛下は読まれたまさにその書状を特別の贈り物として私に届けられた．私の通訳は私にこのようなものが外国人に与えられたのは初めてのことだと告げた
